The Enormous Turnip

This week we have enjoyed the story of the enormous turnip. The children have joined in with songs that help tell the story and we have sequenced  the story together. On Friday they acted out the story with lots of pulling and pulling they managed to get the turnip out.

The children enjoy investigating outside and this week they found an ants nest. This was a fantastic learning experience for them as we discussed ants and their habitats. We are going to be looking at minibeasts next week in more detail.

The children are enjoying the sand pit, especially with the nice weather, apologies if your child comes home with sand in their socks. This area had created another dimension to the children's learning including, sharing space and resources, communication, mathematical and science language, capacity, volume, weight, full, half full, empty, wet or dry. The list goes on as we try not to miss any learning opportunities for the children while they play.

Another Bank Holiday for us all again so we look forward to seeing you all next Tuesday.

Have a great weekend.

Mrs Robinson:)

Friday 22 April 2022

Welcome back. It seems like we have been away for a long time and it was lovely to see the children all happy to be back to school in their Summer uniforms. We have been looking at our plants that have been growing in the garden and how they have changed over the last 2 weeks. We discussed what the weather had been like over Easter and they realised that it was very important to water the garden as we did not have a lot of rain.

Next week we will be reading the story about the enormous turnip and looking at the sequence of the story.

Below is a reminder of our Summer uniform.

Optional for Summer* – Navy blue and white checked school dress and grey short trousers with white polo t-shirt.

Please speak to me if you have any concerns about this.

Have a good weekend

Mrs Robinson.

Happy Easter

  Hello everyone,

We have had a very exciting week enjoying Easter activities in school. We have discussed the  Easter traditions and the children have created colourful Easter eggs and Easter cards for their friends and family. The children were thrilled taking part in the Easter egg hunt in our garden and enjoyed making chocolate nests. The smell of melted chocolate put us all in the festive mood.
