End of Term Reflections in EYFS

As we approach the end of the term, there's a real sense of excitement and anticipation in the air. Although the holidays are just around the corner, learning is still happening all around us! Our children continue to explore, question, and discover right up to the very end—and it's been a joy to watch.

This time of year naturally brings a moment for reflection. Both children and adults are getting ready for a well-earned break, and as we pause to look back, we’re so pleased with everything our children have achieved. The progress they've made—socially, emotionally, and academically—has been incredible. Each child has grown in confidence and independence, and we couldn't be more impressed.

As we prepare for the transition to a new school year, it’s lovely to see how ready our children are for their next chapter. For our Reception children, this means moving into a new classroom—an exciting step filled with new opportunities. While we’ll miss seeing their familiar faces every day, we know they are more than ready for what lies ahead.

We wish all our families a happy and restful break. Thank you for being part of such a special year!

Moving into Reception – A Seamless Journey in Our EYFS Unit

As the academic year progresses, one of the most exciting milestones for our children is the move from Nursery into Reception. At many settings, this can be a big change—but here in our EYFS unit, it’s a smooth and natural transition, and we absolutely love that!

Because we work as a unit, our children are already familiar with the environment, staff, routines, and expectations. There’s no “big leap” to worry about—just steady, confident steps forward in a space that already feels like home.

Children moving into Reception continue to learn and grow alongside familiar faces, supported by practitioners who know them well. Relationships have been built, trust is already established, and the continuity means children can hit the ground running—ready to take on new challenges and experiences with excitement, not anxiety.

We’re already seeing how this seamless move is supporting children’s wellbeing and learning. They are settled, engaged, and thriving. Their confidence shines through in how they approach new activities, take on more responsibility, and build on the strong foundations laid in Nursery.

It’s such a joy to witness this next stage of their journey unfold with such ease. We’re incredibly pleased and grateful that our unit approach gives them the best possible start.

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead in Reception!
