What a performance. The children really enjoyed singing for you this week and we hope that you enjoyed it too. It has been very busy and festive in foundation, and we have been making cards and enjoying lots of glitter and glue. I think they have definitely got into the Christmas spirit. We have been so lucky with the snow and the children have spent time outside making snow angels and snowmen. Only 3 school days left before we break for the holidays. We are all looking forward to a break and we hope that some of the awful bugs will disappear.
Please remember to collect your child at 2 o'clock on 21st December.
I hope you enjoy the photos.
I thought I would start with this one as this was Aris after he had been outside. He said he was warming his feet on the fire!
How amazing is that.
Christmas has arrived in foundation and this week we have created a Christmas card factory. The children have enjoyed writing cards, putting them in envelopes and posting them in our post box. We have learnt about the Christmas nativity story and have continued to practice our songs for the show.
The children are looking forward to performing for you but please do not be surprised if your child doesn't sing or gets upset if they see you, this is completely normal, and we will make sure that they are ok. It can be a little overwhelming to be in the hall with lots of adults. Hopefully they will all be ok.
We have been looking at shapes this week and the children have enjoyed using with geometric shapes with the play dough. The teachers supported the children with learning the names of the shapes.
We decided to collect some natural resources we put them in water to see if they would freeze outside during the night. The photographs show the results. The children were amazed.
Not long to go now before we have our break. I think the children and the adults are ready for a few relaxing days.

This week we have been practicing our songs for the Christmas concert. The children are very enthusiastic, and I am sure they will have been singing the songs at home. They are looking forward to performing for you on the 13th and 14th of December. Please can you dress your child in Christmas clothes on Monday 12th, Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th December as we will be performing the concert for the school on the Monday. This can comprise of any Christmas festive clothes that you have at home. Please do not go out and buy new clothes for this.
We now have a post box in the setting so the children can bring Christmas cards in if they wish. I have provided a list of the children names for nursery and reception.

The children are really getting into the Christmas spirit, and they have been enjoying the outside sleigh reading area. The only thing missing is a nice cup of drinking chocolate!
There seems to be a lot of bugs around at the moment, with lots of children with the same symptoms. We are hoping that the cold weather will get rid of them soon.
Have a great weekend.
Mrs Robinson:)
