Poppy's Day

This week we began to look at the artwork by Stephen Wiltshire. This is something we will be continuing into next week. The children are going to reproduce some art in the style of Stephen and also learn about his life. On Friday we talked about Remembrance Day. We listened to a story called "Poppy's Day" on CBeebies. This is a child friendly story all about remembering. The children were excellent at understanding elements of this story, and it was a good example of how we should remember others.
The children made their own poppies with paper, paint and tape.
Next week we are going to be focusing on our listening skills. The children are now very comfortable in the setting and have a good understanding of routines. This is exactly what we want from them but now and again it means that they want to sit and chat during focused sessions. We are going to be playing lots of games that involve taking turns to talk and listen to others. We will also be going for a walk around the grounds to see the changes to the trees since we last looked.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
Mrs Robinson.
