Friday 4 November 2022

This week we have celebrated Diwali with the children, which is the Hindu festival of light.

The world Diwali means 'rows of lighted lamps' because houses, shops and public places are decorated with small oil lamps called 'diyas'. Diwali always falls sometime between October and November, but the exact date varies each year as the Hindu calendar is based on the Moon. This year Diwali was on 4 4th October. The children really enjoyed learning about this festival, and we created our own Rangoli patterns and diva's.

The children have come back full of energy and ready for learning after their break. It's good to see that lots of the bugs from last term are gone, fingers crossed.

We have talked about bonfire night and the children are looking forward to seeing some fireworks.
Next week we are going to be learning about an amazing artist called Stephen Wiltshire.
Have a great weekend.
Mrs Robinson.
