I think there has been a sight improvement with the temperature this week and we have made the most of the sunshine that we saw. the children were very excited at the beginning of the week as they had seen the Coronation and had more of an understanding of what it meant. We observed them pretending to be kings and queens walking around balancing crowns on their heads. I think they even did it better than Camilla.
After our recent planting session we are noticing that the seeds we planted are starting to grow little shoots. This week, to mark the coronation event we have planted 3 Wild Cherry trees in our garden. We will be looking at different types of trees and products made out of trees next week.
The children are observing and discussing the changes that are taking place with our caterpillars and tadpoles. We used the language of size to describe the changes. We read ‘The very Hungry Caterpillar’ story and the children were engaged in retelling the story using the props. Next, the children will make life cycle books of a caterpillar and a frog.
I am hoping that the weather will continue to improve so can I remind you that we have a sheltered garden that gets very hot. Please make sure your child has sun protection on in the mornings as they will be spending a lot of time outside.
This weekend is going to seem very short as we have got use to our long ones.
Have a great time.
Mrs Robinson
