This week in Nursery, our learning has centred around nursery rhymes. The children spent time listening carefully, joining in with familiar rhymes, and identifying rhyming words — words that sound the same at the end. They enjoyed clapping along and confidently spotting rhymes, which supported their early phonics development in an engaging way.
We also explored new vocabulary found within the nursery rhymes. The children talked about the meanings of different words and shared their ideas during group discussions. It was encouraging to see them begin to use this new language in their play and conversations.
Later in the week, the children were given the opportunity to sing nursery rhymes in front of the class. This helped to develop confidence and speaking skills, and the class showed great respect and encouragement for one another throughout.
It has been a positive week of learning, with the children showing enthusiasm, focus, and growing confidence across all activities.
REMINDER
All children should now be wearing their winter uniform which is the navy tracksuit with white polo shirt underneath. Please make sure all items are labelled.
