SPRING

This week in EYFS has been full of excitement, curiosity and signs of new beginnings!

We were very lucky to receive some frog spawn from Mr Berridge, which has already captured lots of interest from the children. Over the next few weeks, we will be carefully observing how it changes and grows. This has introduced us to the fascinating concept of life cycles, and the children are beginning to understand how living things develop and change over time. There have been lots of thoughtful discussions and questions as we watch the transformation unfold.

Outdoors, our imaginative play has taken a new direction with the construction of our very own pirate ship! The children have been busy working together to build, create and bring their ideas to life. This has inspired wonderful storytelling, teamwork and role play, with many exciting pirate adventures taking about to take place on the high seas!

We have also been noticing the changes happening around us as spring arrives. The children have spotted signs of new life, talked about the weather getting warmer and enjoyed spending more time exploring outside. It’s been a lovely opportunity to connect our learning with the natural world. We have planted some cress seeds and we will be making bread and butter so that we can have sandwiches when it grows.

A fantastic week of exploration, creativity and discovery!

On Friday, we enjoyed celebrating Red Nose Day together! The children had lots of fun coming to school in their red noses and bright, colourful clothes. We talked about how the day helps raise money to support people who need it. It was a lovely way to come together, have fun and learn about helping others.
